in my experience, and as per the latest RAID levels below are my recommendations...

I prefer to use RAID50 because it can withstand 2 HDD failures... and give more performance than RAID5, but i dont think the IBM V3700 support the RAID50,

so here you can use... RAID5, no issues because SSD and also...are you using EASY TIER or directly creating LUNS in SSD or directly create in FC and then the EASY tier will move the hot data? what is the case....?

RAID 10 anyway it wont be cost effective... but you can use many tiers.. like SSD RAID5 and RAID 10, and then SAS RAID 5 and RAID 10, and finally RAID6 of SATA, RAID6 in SATA is good.. because the rebuild time of RAID5 SATA is very high, and configure the auto tiering...if you license..

if you dont have EASY tier, then just..RAID5 for SSD

this is my experience with array in HP3par.. and its autotiering... here IBM also have auto tier...so you can mix and configure...effectively. So that during the VDI boot strom it will get the IOPS...
