I'm pretty sure that's the problem.

Looks like it also has two USB 2.0 ports (one normal, one eSATA combo) - it's possible that USB redirection works on these ports.

You can also try disabling USB 3.0 in BIOS, so all ports are forced to use only USB 2.0

Pretty much, yes.

I never needed that function myself, but it's there.
