We did a recent patch upgrade on 5.1 to 914609 using vum, and now the 2003 terminal serer keeps geting the error: vmware tools core services encountered a problem and needed to close.
This morning, a user called me advising no one could log into the terminal server. This is the second time this habbened in two weeks. I vpn to the site, I could ping the vm, but could not log in using mstsc, so I opened vcenter console, and saw that the vm's ip address was not visible in the Summary Tab. A reboot of the vm was required to bring the vm back on line.
The vm was built natively using vcenter. It has worked fine for almost 2 years, but recenty after the latest patch update to 914609, this vm has started having this issue. Last week I removed and re-installed tools.
